![]() In 2003 the club relocated to its current multi-story location, complete with an outdoor rooftop terrace for the enjoyment of many an afterhours freak - the rest, as they say, is history. ![]() Space's original 1990 incarnation was a one-story warehouse off of Biscayne Boulevard, launched by DJ-turned-nightclub impresario Louis Puig as an experiment in egalitarian, inclusive nightlife for discerning EDM lovers. May 22 marks a decade since the downtown venue first opened its doors, putting the MIA on the international clubland map by providing superstars guest DJs the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, and Danny Tenaglia with an exuberant big-room venue matching those found in the nightlife mecca of Ibiza. It's virtually impossible to speak of local nightlife and electronic dance music culture without touching on Space, Miami's quintessential megaclub.
